(half) marathon monday: week ten

Last week was my final full week of regular training and now it's officially May and the Cleveland Half Marathon is now two weeks away!


Monday: Spinning
Tuesday: 3.6 miles
Wednesday: 2.25 miles
Thursday: Spinning
Friday: 4 Miles
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: 6 miles

So like last week, I was supposed to run two 5 mile short runs but split them up a bit. It works out really well with my schedule and I like being in the habit of running 3ish miles before work during the week. I'm hoping to keep it up at least twice a week after the half is over.

My six mile run on Sunday was .... not bad, but slower than I would have liked if I want to PR in two weeks. Then again, I have to keep reminding myself that it was hot yesterday and that's always going to slow me down. I did, however, have some negative splits in the last couple miles which is a very good thing.


Now is the time when I have to step back and trust the process and trust my body knows what it's doing. After Hermes 10 Miler I knew I was in a position to PR so now I have to not psych myself with slower times.

  1. I just started reading your blog--I started with your 4-part history series, and I too have a history of binge eating. Good luck with the half marathon training! I've been a lifelong walker and only recently started adding running into the mix. I look forward to reading more about your journey!
